STRAP YOUR HANDS ACROSS MY COMMON-SENSE CONSERVATISM?

I'm sure you already know that on 9/11 Glenn Beck is going to join Sarah Palin up in Wasilla, and I'm sure you also know that the two of them are charging up to $225 for tickets to the event.

Tasteless enough for ya? Well, if one particular rumor is true, this little shindig could get even more tasteless. From Alaska Dispatch:

According to a letter to the editor of The Frontiersman, the Conservative Patriots Group is holding a "non-partisan, non-political remembrance rally" (a remembrance "rally"?) to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Speakers include Wasilla Mayor Verne Rupright, plus Joe Miller....

Gryphen, the administrator of the progressive blog, Immoral Minority, hears from an unnamed source that Sarah Palin herself will be attending the Wasilla rally, and that attendees will follow her to Anchorage in a giant motorcade for her scheduled speech at Glenn Beck's event at Anchorage's Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center....

(Emphasis added.)

It's just a rumor, but holy crap -- can you imagine if she zipped over to her little three-ring circus with Beck accompanied by a bunch of sweaty biker dudes? Does it get tackier than that?

... Oh, I'm sorry, I forget -- riding a chopper is patriotic. Every real American knows that. That's why John McCain went to Sturgis in 2008 (where he volunteered his wife for a topless beauty contest). Bikers commemorate 9/11 every year. I'm just a fancy-pants impotent, limp East Coast elitist with no cojones if I don't understand that.

Still ... damn. The next president of the United States, brought to you by American International Pictures?
