ON THE TICKET A FEW HOURS AND ALREADY GOING McCARTHYITE
(updated)

The Huffington Post has excerpts of Paul Ryan's VP acceptance speech. A couple of lines:
We won't replace our founding principles...we will reapply them!

We will honor you, our fellow citizens, by giving you the right and opportunity to make the choice:

What kind of country do we want to have?

What kind of people do we want to be?
Shorter Paul Ryan: Barack Obama is not an American. America under Barack Obama is not a free country. And so it begins with the new guy.

****

UPDATE: I see from Charlie Pierce that that second line is a favorite of Ryan's, a rehash of a whiny complaint about President Obama uttered back in April, when Obama said mean things about him:
He was supposed to be bigger than this. We need solutions, not excuses. We need a president who takes the lead in not one that spreads the blame. We need someone who appeals to our dreams and aspirations, not to our fears and anxieties. We as Americans deserved to choose what kind of country we want and what kind of people we want to be.
That last sentence got repeated in his speech today. I don't know what the hell it has to do with all the other complaints, except that maybe criticizing Paul Ryan = fascism for all Americans.

Founding principles?

Slavery. Racism. Votes for white men only. Hmm.

Liberals and Democrats have to get some balls and be willing to say in public we don't admire everything about the founding generation, we don't want to live like them, and we don't want a government like theirs.

This is not the 18th Century and we have come a long way and are glad of it.

We need and want a government for us, for the way we live, for the way we want to live, and for our century.

And we want an economic and social order that works for us, not for the rich who want it to work just for them.

Oh, and I do want a president who looks like America.

Like today's America, the America of the 21st Century.

A pleasant light-brown color is a pretty good blend of all the colors and types that make up America.

Bone white is not really quite the thing, is it?

(And in 2016 I suggest a light brown woman some 10 to 20 years younger than Hillary.)

Ryan, between the lines:
We won't replace our founding principles...we will reapply them!
Women, give up your vote.
"Blah" people - back to 3/5's of your white masters vote.

We will honor you, our fellow citizens, by giving you the right and opportunity to make the choice:
A slow death, or a fast death?
Do you eat? Pay the rent? Or get some medecine.
The choices will be YOURS!!!

What kind of country do we want to have?
A Third World Banana Republic, with all the modern weapons we can dream up!

What kind of people do we want to be?
The 'WE' part of "we," is rich and powerful.
The 'you' part of "we," is poor serfs.

Our motto comes from that great state of California:
"SERFIN' USA!!!
